looking at your advice it looks very much like the coil is at fault.
A
lso I have been told that ezgo no longer supply the ignitors and that the engine is now obsolete, is this right?
Thanks for everyones help
Yes, bad as I hate to say it ezgo does not supply the ignitors anymore. They do have the coils here in the USA at ezgo dealers but they cost $375.71. There may be a few dealers that might have an OEM ignitor on the shelf but I sure don't know where one might be.
They only made these MCI engines four years so parts are indeed rare. I changed mine over to the pre mci engine because I keep parts for them.

That would appear to be out of range being it should be in the
433.5 - 586.5 Ω range.
Check with another meter to make sure.
None of those are available here in the USA at dealers. At one time I had a good used one in my shop but someway it came up missing.

Hi Trig123, Thanks for your informative, as usual, reply.
I have located a Mitsibushi coil off a Suzuki Vstrom motorbike number F6T546 which is identical, apart from the connections, plug not built in.
I will try it when it arrives and inform you whether it works..
Thanks for all your help

Keep us posted on the outcome, that might be an alternative source to our dilemma over here.

Hi Trig123, fitted coil, identical apart from the connectors.
Started first kick after changing the connectors, bit of choke off it went, so anyone stuck for a new coil look for this one
