Club car ds tranny rebuild
Hey guys not familiar with club cars and I think the rear end is not working. Have the cart on jack stands and tires off and when I move the right side it moves the secondary clutch then slips about half turn and grabs again. Have not opened up the rearend but is it worth fixing ? Someone said if u don’t get timing right or something that it will be more $$$ to fix
BTW it’s a 1986 club car ds gas |

Re: Club car ds tranny rebuild
The rear ends are stupid simple. There’s nothing to them really. Where are you in Ohio?
What exactly is wrong with it or what is it doing? Or not doing? |

Re: Club car ds tranny rebuild
I’m close to Toledo, but I have it jacked up with no belt connected and once I turn the hub it spins the secondary clutch half way and slips and then grabs again, and the other side does nothing. I can reply back tomorrow when I pull it apart

My be a stripped axle or something easy. I’m not far from you if you need a hand. I’m by flint but I work in Detroit
Let us know what you find. There really isn’t much to these rear ends. The transmission comes out with a few bolts in less than 10-15 minutes. The rear end/diff itself is the same as electric |

Re: Club car ds tranny rebuild
Before checking axles, try spinning both tires at the same time and see if the same occurs.
When I was checking my axle ratio in my 96 I got funny readings spinning only one tire. When I spun both at the same time, it came out exactly as expected. |

Re: Club car ds tranny rebuild
I’m at the cart and have both rear tires off and have the driver side hub off and the rearend to go forward, spinning the driver side forward and the passenger side is rotating backwards with the secondary clutch not moving ? Is the normal
Now I’m at the passenger side doing the same thing (rotating forwards and the driver side is moving backwards with no secondary clutch movement) |

Re: Club car ds tranny rebuild
Spinning the secondary clutch in forward and reverse has only very little movement to both hubs

Re: Club car ds tranny rebuild
You have to hold one wheel so it wont turn and turn the other one to get things to spin right
