Default 2013 fuel injected spark plug looks too lean to me.

95° here in Florida today and this is the plug reading after 15 miles 20 to 25mph. Current runs excellent and is pretty much original. Any advice?

That looks close to lean but ok, fi engines run close to lean. watch the pug tip for ashy ness. Could put a one step cooler plug in it.

Thank you for the response. Old school taught me gray maybe light tan on the porcelain part but today's standards are different.

Your old school thinking is correct. However.....

"old school" should be for "carburetors"

"new school" should be for "fuel injected"

Todays vehicles with computers, sensors, injectors ect really extract (or attempt to) maximum fuel burn for maximum efficiency (fuel mileage and lower emissions). Very different methods between carbs and efi. Don't feel bad, it's completely different.

Looks normal. Except the deposits on the electrode. Do you use cheap gas or low octane? That is normally the case f that.

Regular pump 87....ethanol at least 10%. There is an ethanol free station nearby but i can't drive to it legally.

Start paying the extra for 89 or 93. Over the course of a year it isn’t that much money difference. My carts exhaust would stink when running low octane. Mine is carbureted . I would have to leave the garage open to air out after driving. Went back to 93. No problems now. And the reason I started putting 87 was my daughter is old enough to drive it now. And she does. A lot. I was trying to save myself some money. Not worth it. Even my plug looks better. I run mobill gas.

Here is the plug(bpr4es-11) on one heat range cooler. Still looks lean to me was hoping for a light gray or light tan. Trouble with these open loop EFI systems is it is hard to monitor AF ratio. Cart start runs excellent and fuel economy is very good. I did pull the throttle body and fuel pump cell for a check and inspect. Also pulled valve cover and confirm valves at .004. temperature might have something to do with it as I am using the cart in mid-90° weather. Has 2 gallons 93 octane added to 1 gallon 87.
