grease fittings
I have a 1984 EZ-Go and need to grease the fittings, I have no knowledge on how to do this, can you walk me throught it for the first time?

If its the same as my old 89 there is one on the steering box where it goes thru the floor and 2 up under the front cowl where the tie rods are connected. Not sure if there is anymore

Boys will be boys. OK Olivia have a look at the steering box which is inside the cart at the end of the steering column. Right on the top in plain sight is a grease nipple. Push your grease gun onto it, you should feel a little resistance and then it will snap on. Give the gun a pump, if you have the gun attached correctly no grease will ooze out between the end of the gun and the nipple. Now give it another 5 or so pumps.
From memory I think that there are 7 grease points on the steering Now you know what the fitting looks like, look at each pivot point on the steering. If you see a nipple hook up the grease gun and pump away until you see clean grease coming out of the joint. The final step is to step back, open a beer and remind yourself how smart you are. |
