Superior Batteries
Just wondered if anyone's ever heard of, or tried superior batteries, made in kentucky I believe, I'm thinking about replacing mine, and the guy says they are equivilant to Trojan...my question is, if anyone's heard of them or tried them especially, do you get the same ride time out of them as trojan batteries, and also, is a trojan battery going to give you more speed than others, I know everyone seems to say the trojan last longer in the long run than most other batteries on the market...any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Superior Batteries
Here is the quick and simple rule of thumb. The heavier the battery the better. That's pretty much it. Then you have to make the right call between initial cost and a little more run time... Look at the stickies up top for the battery chart that should help.

Re: Superior Batteries
Thanks...I've been reading the posts I think I'm going to spend the extra and go with trojans.

Re: Superior Batteries
Check out the excides. Probably a better battery than the trojans. Word is that Trojan is cutting corners and riding on their reputation. Crown batteries is another great choice. Like stated before, weight is a major factor. More lead equals more run time.

Re: Superior Batteries
Well I was told today, to specifically stay away from exides, but they said crown was a good battery, I guess it's what you like, I really don't want to spend 115 a peice for trojans, but it seems like 8 out of 10 say go with trojans, this is my first electric, so I'm new to all this.

Re: Superior Batteries
ctc, where in the South East are you ? They are about 100 each exchanged near Augusta GA. But the others, Sams, Interstate, CostCo, NAPA are in the 75-85 range.

Re: Superior Batteries
I'm running Trojan t-875's right now. Purely because I got them for $85 apiece. This set is close to being 2 yrs old and haven't had any issues. I'll be doing my homework when its time for a new set.

Re: Superior Batteries Superlex 8volts
I have a set of superlex 8 volts batteries that are six months old now. They are 51 volts after 24 hr. off the charger. The price was good too at $600.00 for the set. The U S batteries were going for around $780.00 at some dealers. The superlex seem to be well made so I gave them a shot and so far I'm satisfied with the superlex batteries.

Re: Superior Batteries
When shopping batteries this year looked at Trojan, superior,us. Decided on us batteries as specs were slightly better then Trojans. Could’t find enough info on superior batterie or their track record.
FYI got just shy of 6 years out of my Trojans but there performance was falling off. Comparing specs to Trojan and us batteries 5 years ago would have voted Trojan. Comparing now chose us batteries FWIW batteries are the life blood of your cart. By the best you can afford and maintain them religiously. Buy once cry once, the largest capacity you can afford gives longest use between charges. search jonnie b’s battery comparison chart as it may help. Don’t skimp on batteries😊 |
