G29 Drive Very Jerky on Takeoff
I have a 2007 drive that is very jerky on takeoff and stop. When I give it the gas it is not a smooth takeoff. I checked the throttle cable at the gas pedal and there is no slack, I have it adjusted all it can go at the gas pedal and it still has tension on the cable. Is there another area it can be loosened at?
I have the speed spring on it and the nut on the governor is loosened all the way to try to relieve the tension and stop backfiring, that did not help. The drive clutch moves very smooth and I just tore the driven clutch apart and put a new factory spring on it, it also seems to operate fairly smooth. Any suggestions? |

Drive belt may be loose or worn out.

Re: G29 Drive Very Jerky on Takeoff
Tom @ CPP (a very respected site sponsor), has a kit for upgradeing the sickly "Team" primary and secondary clutch's. May want to check out his site or give him a call. How did you get that primary apart? I bought the very expensive Yamaha service tool and I couldn't get one to budge Some times I need help too.

Re: G29 Drive Very Jerky on Takeoff
I only took the secondary clutch apart, I replaced the primary with a new clutch and it did nothing.
My main problem is the throttle cables, I can not get enough slack in them to get the cart to take off smooth. I replaced the belt and no change. |

Re: G29 Drive Very Jerky on Takeoff
Sorry, didn't read your first post very well I guess. You can adjust accelerator cable #2 (it's under the starter/generator and not fun to do). You really do need slack in cable #2. If you need a picture let me know. Sorry you had to change so many parts and not fix the problem.
