G9 Conversion: Help appreciated!
Hello all,
I haven't had much luck so far getting help on this forum but I'll give it one last shot. My base for the project is a 1970s Golf Cart body and frame. Was originally electric, but not anymore after the progress I have already made. I chose the Yamaha G9 for my part source for the gas conversion as there are loads of them being parted out in my area. I've already swapped the differential to the gas G9 rear end and 'installed' the F/R switch, but that's my problem at this point. I purchased the switch from a local who was parting out a G9 and let's just say I got one of the last parts on it - no engine, no body, very few cables left, no nothing, so sadly I didn't get a visual on how the part was originally mounted. I've figured out how to hook it up to the rear end and already have it installed as far as I can do, but it doesn't function at all because I am unsure how to mount it to the body. If anyone could help me out by taking a picture of how their factory G9 F/R lever is setup I'd mean a lot to me! |

Here's a pic of the f/r switch behind the cowl. As it is now its in neutral. The right cable goes to the bottom at the differential. It's mounted to the metal plate that makes the seat/cowl frame. If I can get you another pic let me know.

Re: G9 Conversion: Help appreciated!
There is a little tension on the cables in neutral and less or none in a gear. This keeps it in gear. Too much and it is hard to shift.
