Thumbs up Cash Box Install

I bolted in a cash box under the seat next to the battery. The main reason for the cash box is so that I can put my wallet and phone in it when I go swimming, instead of trying to hide them in a shoe or on a towel.

Once I got it in there I began to worry about dirt, mud and dust getting into the keyhole at the top of the box. So I super-glued a rubber valve cover grommet down around the base of the keylock cylinder. I was fishing around the garage looking for something that would fit snug in the grommet and keep the mud out. I found an old gas cap from a gas can I no longer own and cut it to fit. I wasn't even planning on it, but the gas cap provides a bit of a disguise for the cash box, making it look like some kind of fluid container!

Well, not only will they have to be enticed to travel here (I'm guessing 98% of members viewing this are not nearby), find out exactly where I am when they get here, then they'll have to use heavy metallic tools to break into the cash box, all the while surrounded by lots of people swimming and picnicking (not to mention park security). And even if they make it that far and get the thing open, it may even be empty (as it is right now). So...I'll take my chances.

I'd bet it's safe. It's good thinking on your part. I just had to make mention that you showed it off to 100k of your closest friends. It's way safer than my plastic lockable dash doors
