In need of a softer ride
I have a 2015 Yamaha drive, with a Jake's 6" long travel suspension, 23" tires, 12" rim's. I purchased the long travel kit thinking I would get a softer ride on the front suspension, but find it is a very hard ride. The coils on the shocks are on it's softest setting, is there something I am missing or is this typical with the long travel kit. I am open to any suggestions.

Might try lowering tire pressure.

Re: In need of a softer ride
Another thing I found out the hard way. Are you running 2 ply or 4 ply tires? I put 4 ply on my cart thinking it would save on tire repairs and now the cart rides really rough even with lower tire pressure. I would sure look into 2 ply tires next time.

Re: In need of a softer ride
Thanks guys, I have lowered the tire pressure and I use the cart on dirt roads all the time and didn't want to go with a 2 ply tire for the reason of flats. The jake's shock's are pre charged I do beleive and is it possible to lower pressure in them to accomplish a softer ride.

I'd contact Jakes with your questions. They may have suggestions that will help.

Re: In need of a softer ride
I sent Jakes an e-mail a couple months ago, no response and just sent another one today, hopefully they have an easy fix.

Re: In need of a softer ride
Uh, I'd probably place a call. I don't put too much faith in large companies returning emails. They may get a thousand emails a day. I have had better luck just calling and talking to one of the installation techs.

Re: In need of a softer ride
If you stand on the front end, does the front squat down? How much?
