I removed the fan cover and started engine..oil seems to be comming from crank seal but its hard to be sure because the fan sprays it all around. seal is still in place. how does the engine vent the crank case? could it be building to much pressure?

Did you put in the small o-ring that goes in the side cover gasket?

I just removed the fan and found that the crank seal was out about a 1/8" from flush. I inspected the seal it looked ok.. i re installed it and pricked punched it. started and ran engine in garage no leaks yet. will road test later.

I know im a few years late car18, but if your still on these forums, how hard is it to get into that portion of the motor, my seal is leaking too and i need to get into it with common tools. do you need a gear puller or need to completely remove fan from shaft to get into the case cover or is it easier than that?...thanks
