Re: Starter question on G2
I recently just ordered a new starter gen and solenoid I hope this solves my issue. Mine was slowly starting for awhile until recently it wont even do a full stroke, even when jumped with another battery. One thing I didn't understand was when trying to start the cart I would let off the pedal and the solenoid would start clicking and trying to still turn the motor over, I hope my new solenoid and starter gen will fix this problem.

Re: Starter question on G2
My G9 would start the same way. I checked all the wires and connections and grounds. I took part the Relay and the contacts were bad, plus i decided to just replace the Generator/Starter with a new Hitachi for only $90 on Ebay. It spins fast and starts immediately now. It use to turn over once or twice and stop, then start again. It also use to turn over and sometimes when it stopped it was at a compression stroke an the engine would turn backwards slightly. We the bad part for me was the Starter/Generator and it starts and runs great now.....as of an hour ago when i finally installed it. Good luck

Re: Starter question on G2
I took off the regulator wiring and found second wire broken halfway and only like 3 wires holding together so I repaired two wires on it today.
Hooked it all back up now voltage output is reading at around 15.20v Is that a bit high? Should it be hovering around 14v? |

Re: Starter question on G2
15.2 is fine as long as its not "cooking" the battery if you start to notice top the battery getting wet i would back the regulator off a pinch

If your black battery cable is getting hot then you have bad ground(s) creating high resistance through that circuit. It needs to be repaired before running the cart anymore or you’ll likely cook the ignitor (big $$$) I’d recommend starting a new thread of your own rather than piggyback off a really really old one |
