Great! Thanks for letting us know what the issue was. Enjoy the cart at the campground and have a safe trip.

Well that was short lived, pull the cart off the trailer and get a passenger we start driving on a dirt road and as soon as I floor it to start getting some speed up boom fuse pops and it runs like crap again, I think the starter gen I got is junk. It is like if you draw just a little power other than 1/4 throttle it breaks.

Basically what I'm saying is that as soon as it is under load the fuse pops, and also once the fuse pops cart will not turn over at all or do anything like the starter is bad it's a cheap Chinese one I'm pretty sure this is what is my problem

so I changed out the new starter with the old oem one and cart runs perfect rode for a really long time and it didn't pop any fuses, this oem starter will need brushes soon but for now runs awesome , kinda sucks because now I know that I never had to purchase a new starter in the first place. The starter I bought smelled burned when I inspected it. so it definitely shorted out inside somehow or was defective right from the factory. So i now learned to not trust new parts andnever skip over them when testing parts. Couldve saved me a lot of time and money lol. Even without the cart camoping trip was great perfect florida weather all weekend!!

Curious, why can't accessories like a utility light be grounded to the frame? Is my Yami not supposed to have a ground from the battery to the chassis or the engine?

The ignition is triggered on an "open/closed ground". If you have loose or contaminated ground connections, the ignitor does not know which signal to read or react to!!

You CAN ground to the frame if you make sure the connection will be secure for a thousand yrs!!...

Simple, on my Yamaha (G15-A from Japan), the only fuse, 10A, is between the battery minus and the frame.

Would I ground anything, it would go through this fuse. As a consequence, I would need to take consideration of the consumption of all these accessories which will add amps and possibly I should then change it to a higher value.

Let say I add accessories representing another 10A, then I would need to allow a total 20A, so install a 20 or even 25A fuse. If Yamaha installed a 10A fuse, it means any consumption more than 10A will blow the fuse as a protection of their electric devices.

Now if I changed it to 20 or 25A, and there is a trouble somewhere, it will require more than 20 or 25A to blow the fuse to protect any single piece of equipment.

Usually, fuses are on the + and not on the - (ground) permitting to add fuses to any group or even single accessory with its right protection.
