Park it inside....keep the batteries hooked up to a charger and check the water once a month or so.

Re: Store a electric car for 6 mo
I think it depends where you're located and the type of charger you have.
Up here in boarder country I store mine for 6 months during the winter when I'm down south. Process that seems to work is make sure they are topped off, but make sure you don't add water for the last few charges (you want the acid well mixed, water freezes at 32, battery acid -90.) Then charge the bank, disconnect the charger, wait 30 minutes and charge again. After that disconnect neg, then pos bank posts. If you're leaving the cart in Florida for the summer while north, thinking you're best to ask for local wisdom down there and forego the virtual world advice unless they're actually doing the exact same thing in the same weather area. When I called CC in GA, they had no clue what I should do, and referred me to the local dealer. |

Humdinger 2000,
I pasted a link below, to another thread that is going on talking about battery maintainers. Given all the education in this thread, I would by a maintainer and put it on my electric car, if i was going to leave it unused for 6 months. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...aintainer.html Aflyer |
