ok, so I removed the brown wire and put the bolt back in. I can hear it trying to fire/backfire when I press the pedal but still won't run.

Any other ideas?

I read earlier it's not difficult to remove the head to see the valves and cylinder walls. Anyone have instructions for that?

Are you using the choke to start it (rubber button on some carts down to the left of your left leg below the seat)? Some carts absolutely will not start without using the choke.

I've used the choke with no luck. It usually causes the backfire if I press the pedal long enough.

Do you have a backfire (out of the carb) or afterfire (out of the exhaust? Totally different animals.

Also check your air filter and air intake tube going to the carb to make sure it's clean and not kinked or obstructed, and no critters in there.

ok, so I think that it is an afterfire... because I hear it out the back.

I checked the air... even removed the carb hose completely and tried to start, but no luck.

That's unburned fuel exploding in the exhaust, maybe from running way too rich. Either too much fuel or not enough air. Is the choke working properly, not stuck?

Take off the carb and thoroughly clean it out - make sure all the jets are clean, the float is free to move, etc. I don't think you are getting proper fuel. This is easy enough to do before you start digging into the engine and replacing parts shotgun style.

unplug wire by the dip stick that buy passes all the micro switchs and the key,if it has spark ,com and gas it will run.if valve is stuck it may have low compression, pull the valve cover and make sure the valves are both the same hieght when closed if not one is struck.that makes it fire late and pop
