It use to be price, the junk stuff was really low price, that's how you knew it wasn't OEM,
Now they have gotten smart and brought the price up to being close, to OEM price.
Carburetors seem to be the only thing that you can buy the junk for 20 bucks.
Buy legit OEM and problem solved for the next 10 years

On eBay, the sellers must indicate the brand and, in your case, it is clearly not Yamaha brand but EPI. Perhaps they are good, but for 10$ more, I would have gone for an OEM for sure.

When I need Yamaha parts, I usually use boats.net, they are not sponsor but carry only brands (Yamaha, Suzuki, etc...) at the best price I ever found.

Now as said, you will see and hopefully it will work for a while, except according to the picture, it looks the gap between the fixation is not the same
boats.net is a great place to find hard to find parts. I got an in-tank fuel gauge for my G1 there for $20. A lot of boat parts are the same as golf cart parts and use the same part number and are real Yamaha parts. I always check their site before buying off eBay or Amazon.

With boats.net once, I had to wait 2 weeks before they shipped a part, but the fault was it was back-ordered from Yamaha... Anyway, they have really good prices

Why we can't get those guys "on board" here, they sell legit Yamaha stuff? Should reach out to them. Not to "smash" aftermarket guys. Aftermarket parts will always be cheaper, (and some aftermarket parts are fine too), but as a source for the parts that need to be the real ones.
