Could be the carb flooding or could be a bad vacuum leak causing the A/F ratio to be substantially off.

Test Post??

Old garage trick. Get a can of carb cleaner and lightly mist the area's where you could have an air leak. If the engine speeds up, then you found the bad gasket. Don't forget to do the butterfly rod area. Those do wear out with enough time.

If nothing happens, then lightly mist across the carb intake. If the engine speeds up then you're running lean. If the engine does nothing, then it could be running rich. Adjust accordingly. Hope that helps.

Thanks for replying
After all weekend working on the cart we have eliminated it down to the coil, I think. Lol
New gas, clean tank, new fuel filters and lines, carburetor cleaned, didn't look bad at all, Rev limiter checked, plug replace.
Its crazy because it only acts up after its warm.
Coil on its way. I will update after the installation.

coils go bad from heat check your cooling fins, they may be pluged up,when it comes to electrical parts go oem or not at all,so many junk coils out there its a lot of work to put in,do it once and be done

New coil fixed the issue.
Went with a 100 $ Aftermarket coil for now.
We shall see. Im running apx 14 mph on flat surface and not slowing down much on inclines. Is that normal for a fe 290? Thought it would be about 18mph. I dont want to take off governer, i heard that will fry the engine.
Any thoughts on that would greatly be appreciated guys
