New to me club car hesitation and intermittent smoking
I recently got a new to me 2005 club car DS.
The short test ride went pretty well, but now I'm out and experiencing a few problems... This is my 1st cart, so everything on this is fairly new to me. When i take off, its either stoped or going full throttle. No in between. My wife thinks shes gonna get whiplash Whrn we get going, i can feel the cart slow intermittently, followed by popping and sputtering. Then it seems ok for a bit and does the same thing over again... Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! Blessings, DocS |

Thanks for the response guys!
I won't be able to troubleshoot until this weekend. I plan to check the butterfly first. If it's not broken, I'll try making small adjustments (after marking the current position with a sharpie). Blessings, DocS |

It kind of sounds like what mine was doing. My float was sticking in the carb. Every now and then, it went great. Most of the time, it was like you describe, jerky, with an on and off throttle response. We still have to pull the carb off, and clean it right, but a quickie has it running better than it has since we got it last year.

Since I'll have the carb off, I'm planning on cleaning it up before putting it back on...
I kept thinking maybe the choke was on... We'll find out this weekend (I hope). Blessings, Doc S |
