96 club car Will run only at half throttle

I have a 1996 Club Car gas. It only runs at halve throttle and then it is barely moving. I have cleaned carb put new plug in no change. It is getting gas and fire.When running it sounds like it is out of time. Flywheel key is not sheared'

A long long time ago I had a gocart that had a similar problem. Ended up being the plug wire was shot and shorting out against the head. Try running it in the dark and watch for it sparking.

OK took a look at plug wire not shorting out in the dark, Checked valves not burnt still seating good and adjusted. But still will not rev up, carb has been cleaned and blown thru all ports No difference. If you take the drive belt off and disconnect the kill wire it will idle good. I connected my fire indicator and at idle it has a good fire but when you accelerate the fire is slower than at idle. I do not work on club carts a lot But I think my problem is in the fire. I know coils ether work or they do not and the same for igniters. Plug is black when you try to rev it up. Also has new plug Could it be the rev limiter.

Coils do get tired over time. The higher the RPM, the more it works. Is the coil getting hot? It should not get hot. Can you swap in another coil to troubleshoot?
