Run After Pumping Pedal
Trying to help a friend.
2001 series 36 volt. Step on pedal, solenoid clicks, cart no go. Press and release pedal 4 or 5 times and the cart will take off at full speed. After that, it seems to work ok. If it sits a little while, it will do the same thing. Feel like it's solenoid problem. Not familiar with ezgo's. Where should I start? |

Re: Run After Pumping Pedal
I would closely inspect the solenoid for any discoloration or melting on the large terminals. And then check for a slight voltage increase at the controller B+ terminal when the solenoid is on.

Re: Run After Pumping Pedal
If that's not it, if you still have the Molex connector between the throttle box and the wiring harness, usually located between the controller/solenoid and the FNR, replace it. Solder or butt-splice the four wires and use a good quality water resistant heat shrink.
I've never heard of this, but have you already bypassed your reed switch? |

Re: Run After Pumping Pedal
A cart may take off full speed when the pedal is pressed if there is corrosion or leakage in the ITS signal leads fooling the controller. Check the Molex connector as yurtle suggested. You may have a bad solenoid too but it would not normally make cart take off wide open when pedal is first pressed. My experience with this turned out to be wet leaves in the area of the Molex connector and the resulting corrosion and leakage.
