Re: Issue going forward or reverse
Sounds more like the coil is going bad, after it warms up it quits?

Re: Issue going forward or reverse
It's not after it warms up. I'm going to go test that line real quick and will let you know

Re: Issue going forward or reverse
Ok so took that side line that runs from pump to the engine off blew it out, didn't seem obstructed. I put line back on and didn't attach to pump to see if it gave a pulse blow suck when turning over engine which it did. I re hooked the line back up, turn over a few times didn't see fuel filter getting any fuel. So pulled that line from pump to filter/carb. Blew it out no obstructions. Then reattached to just the pump, turned over and not getting any fuel pushing to the filter. I am assuming this all adds up to the pump being bad I dont know.

Re: Issue going forward or reverse
I would have to agree. If the pulse line is working as it should, sounds like fuel pump.
You can take it apart and try to make sure the diaphragm isnt full of junk, sometimes they will be and simply cleaning them off will fix it. Sometimes they're torn or just too hard to work anymore, in which case it's just time to replace the fuel pump. |

Re: Issue going forward or reverse
That’s an aftermarket pump and they don’t tend to last very long. It also should have another cone filter between the tank and the pump to keep trash from the tank from getting in the pump. If it’s getting pulse and not pumping fuel the pump is probably shot.
After you get new pump, filters, etc installed you may need to prime the new pump with some fuel to get it to quickly pull from the tank. You should be back to running in no time! |
