New air intake
Hello
After the lift, My intake hose is rubbing on the electric box and I’m in need of a solution. My thought was to create a new intake that would pull air from between the front and rear seat outside the engine bay. I’ve read many posts stating that the carb will need to be tuned for more air flow. Is this just a different jet or what. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: New air intake
If the hose is long enough, its just an interference issue, I would use one of these:
https://vegascarts.com/collections/c...ation-brackets That bracket will allow you to lower the electrical box and not have to re-engineer an intake or re-tune the engine. |

Re: New air intake
This bracket will not work on the 2001 DS. The electric box bolts to the frame running cross car not the frame rail running front to back.

Re: New air intake
IF... you can find a 90 degree carb manifold, you could do like I did...
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...car-gas-2.html Unfortunately, the B&S part in this thread is no longer available, However, I heard there may be a replacement, but I don't have that info. |

Re: New air intake
When I lifted my carryall I didnt have any issues. But the engine sat about 2 feet back further than a regular cart.
My DS I was having issues with that though. As said, that B&S part is no longer available. What I did was use about a 6" long piece of PVC pipe inside the air hose. I think it may be 1 1/2" but I didnt measure it, it is just small enough to fit snug but not tight inside the intake hose. This is just to keep it from kinking where it exits the carb flange, works perfectly. It's still a tight squeeze but it's been in there a few months now with no issues |

Re: New air intake
Curved radiator hose works good too. Take the air horn off the carb and stop by Napa and ask if you can find a pre-moulded hose with a 90° bends on the ends. Then cut the hose and patch it together to your existing hose with PVC and some clamps.

Re: New air intake
That is how its attached on my 96 as well, to the cross rail. Is the cross rail on the 01 an I-beam rail or L channel?

Re: New air intake
The cart is at my cottage currently, does anyone know the size of the intake hose?
