Default 2016 Club Car Precident.

So picked up a cart could not pass it up. It is haveing trouble charging. I did the test and found the regulator to be bad but when digging around i found this negative broken and I cannot find where it goes. Is it just another frame ground?

The regulator needs a very good ground to control the voltage. I would imagine that is a frame ground that has broken off and is part of your charging issue. Where does the other end connect? Is it to the battery? If so I would definitely think that is a ground to the frame.

Yes there are 2 that look the same both start at battery ine goes to engine case. So i am going to reconect this to a frame area. Dropped in a new regulator and all is charging well.

You may hold off on replacing the regulator. Correcting the grounds may fix the faulty regulator test. Just a thought as the replacement regulators unless you buy OEM are pretty cheap and cheesy.

The ground that’s broken off the frame is usually where the voltage regulator is grounded to as well.At least on my older DS model

OEM is the only thing I'd buy. The aftermarket regulators are not uncommon to be bad right out of the box...

Exactly, My grammar wasn’t exactly awesome on that last post. That’s what I meant though. Had one bad right out of the box myself
