Air Shocks!?
I am wanting to build a 8 to 10 inch lift for my EZ Go and was wanting to put replace the stock shocks with air shocks and remove my leaf springs. Has anybody done this or know anything about how they ride? thanks

Re: Air Shocks!?
I think there are several threads about air shocks, try searching for air shocks on the site
and see what you get. I don't remember the posters names about it. |

Re: Air Shocks!?
I have a lowered cart (EZGO) using air shocks on all 4 corners. The ones I used are Monroe air shocks for cars/trucks and have a little less than 8 inches of travel. I removed the rear leaf springs and built some rear link bars to locate the rear end and the air shocks are the only form of suspension I have. As long as I dont pump the shocks full of air it rides great. If i pump them up tight for maximum lift it is kind of stiff, but about the same as HD rear leaf springs.

In would also reinforce the shock mounts a bit too.

Re: Air Shocks!?
Are they available with two studded ends? I can only find them with one studded end and one eye end.

Also, is that a painted body or a wrap that you have?

Re: Air Shocks!?
Good point. I added a crossmember to my rear top shock mounts to tie them together. I used a .25 inch thick piece of 2 inch flat bar and bolted it to existing holes on the top shock mounts. I didnt want to take any chances with them breaking off or bending and they arent going anywhere now.

Yes, look just google 'Monroe MA705 Max-Air Adjustable Shock', thats the same shock that I used. They are studded on both ends and bolted right up one the rear and probably will on the front (i had to mod a little on my application as its lowered). If you need longer air shocks with the studded ends on both ends, look for the MA739. Just as a reference, here are the specs on both shocks: MA705 10.875"(compressed) 17.375"(extended) 6.500"(travel) MA739 12.375"(compressed) 20.875"(extended) 8.500"(travel) |

Re: Air Shocks!?
Monroe has a dandy little on line tool to help you select the shocks that will help you find the right one.
http://www.monroe.com/catalog/docume...engthSheet.pdf Click the link, find the mount style, and then the length and throw you need. Good luck cdodd3, and dont forget to post pics |
