Multiple Accessories
I'm lost and can't find answer. I want to hook up headlights/tail lights, two usb outlets, and maybe a radio. I cannot find any information of how to do this the best way. I know just stacking a bunch of accessories on the terminals would not be best, do I do a fuse box? If so, how? Cannot find any videos or discussions on this topic. I consider myself a beginner (especially with gas carts). Baby steps for me please :)

Re: Multiple Accessories
I'd use a fuse box. I bought a nice marine one on EBay but have not installed it yet. It was reasonable inexpensive.

Re: Multiple Accessories
Thanks...follow up questions.
Do i hook the fuse box up directly to the battery? Do I hook it up to the solenoid? Do I run it off the battery that is in there? If so do I then need to get a battery charger since the extra accessories will be drawing power? |

Re: Multiple Accessories
If you want your items to be available even when the cart is off then hook up your fuse box directly to the battery. This is how I often do it in my cars but be aware if you leave the lights or stereo on etc, you can run down the battery and it won't start.
If you only want them on when the golf cart is on then you'll need to hook them up into the keyed circuit. Haven't ever done that on a golf car though so someone else might have more info. |

Re: Multiple Accessories
If you hook them up to the key, you'll need to use a relay.
Blue sea makes a nice fuse box with both power and ground available on it for a clean install. |

Re: Multiple Accessories
Thanks bigkahuna76. Will these added accessories put a drain in my battery to the point I need a battery charger?

Re: Multiple Accessories
I believe the starter gen puts out 10amps so as long as you don’t have more pull than that you will be fine

Re: Multiple Accessories
If it pulls over 10 amps you may want to consider a small one wire alternator
