Default 2016 EZGO 48v TXT - Need more speed

First post y’all!
Recently purchased a 2016 EZGO TXT 48V cart. It’s my retirement cart! (after recently moving down here to SC for warmer weather).
It has a Curtis 1206HB TXT Fleet controller in it, with a AMD motor.
After spending 35+ in the automation business…I’m wondering if these controllers can be re-programmed by someone with the right Curtis stuff (software) to get more speed out of them??
Cart also has a lift kit, 23” tires and a rear fold down seat.
Thanks in advance!
Chuck

Equiped as described, you'll need an upgrade controller ( Alltrax / Navitas ) for more torque and speed.

If controller is not in freedom mode it can be turned up but that controller is only 235 amps so won’t last long with those tires. You can run to fail or Navitas/Alltrax upgrade is a good move.

Also welcome to SC

Run it down a hill and see if the cart speed limits itself.

Controllers that speed limit often do it all the time. My cart is in hill mode, so I can't go any faster than 13.5mph, regardless of flat or down hill. Other carts I drive go as fast as the motor and gravity will allow, so going down a big hill they get scary fast, while on flat land is limited to battery/controller power alone.

If your controller has a square 4 pin connector, it probably can be programmed. I'm working on one cart that we may rent a programmer for $40 a month (with a heafty deposit) and check out the options. This cart we want to turn on electronic speed limiting because of the hills.

Controller is programmable and with 23” tires should be low to mid 20s after tuning. If it is not already in freedom mode that will have to be turned on with a dongle and handheld or developer level cable. Not everyone has that.

I would be interested in that; I’ve called the local dealer here in Charleston and they just want me to upgrade saying the Curtis controllers can’t be programmed.

I have a new to me 2016 TXT, fleet motor and fleet Curtis controller. Lifted and larger tires and does 15mph max.

Dealers will do that. Stock 48txt in freedom mode tuned will run low 20s on stock tires. At least in Charleston

Just ask my nephew..
