Default 05 EZGO TXT Rear squeak *video*

I've got an 05 txt freedom. Factory lift. Rear seat.

Randomly during use, but primarily during initial use, I get a squeak out of the rear. It does not seem to be speed dependent. Same noise frequency at slow and high speed, but the noise itself will change in frequency. Sometimes fast or slow as slow speeds sometimes slow or fast at fast speeds.

The issue typically goes away after driving for a few minutes, but will occasionally come back. Is seems to originate from the drivers side.

I have removed and cleared the drums, tightened the castle nuts, and replaced the differential fluid.

I'm at a total loss I'm what to check. Could it be the rear leaf springs? I have purchased new ones, but before I install I want to possibly also resolve this issue if I have the rear end apart and it is an axle issue.

Default Re: 05 EZGO TXT Rear squeak *video*

My cart had some squeaks somewhat akin to that. I ended up completely disassembling the mounting brackets for the roof and baskets then chasing all the threads with dies and taps before reassembling with blue Loctite (removable).

Apparently the nuts and bolts had loosen slightly from vibration and then threads (made of dissimilar metals) got corroded in place in the slightly loosened condition. The bolts, screws and nuts felt tight when I put a wrench on them, but the metal to metal contact points of the brackets had a little play in them and squeaked.

I also ended up putting foam weather stripping (single side adhesive) between the roof and the roof mounting brackets.
