Default How to find correct motor replacement

Hi all. So, my friend has upgraded my cart to use the Navitas 600A controller, and of course my motor is now shot. It's a 48V Club Car and the Part number on the old motor is 101854501. I am looking on Golf Cart King, and see a motor that goes to 25MPH, as I was told I don't need more torque, just speed. How do I know if this will fit/work? I have standard sized tires, non-lifted cart, but replaced entire wire harness and charger with the new controller. Thanks in advance! Faith

Is the motor black or is it grey? If it’s black, it’s an AMD motor. If it’s grey, it’s a GE motor.

What year is the cart and what is the motor doing that it is shot?

I KNOW that this is a GE Motor. The year is 1996, however, that is not what should matter. I am asking what Motor I can now buy that the new controller will work with (not burn out due to too much amperage).

Once your friend went past 300amps on that GE the clock was ticking. This is where I would start my research.

yes it should work but there are better choices out there when looking to spend that much or more money . David at revolution is awesome(link posted above) to work with and also Robbie at Plumquick https://plumquick.com/ is another. Support after the sale is just as important as the sale itself.

I had called plumquick, and he told me $650 or $750 and it would take 6 weeks. I called D&D motors, and he said the correct one was 170-560-0002. I'll try Revolution now.
Thanks, Faith
