Advice on used Yamaha Electric Cart
Own a Drive 2 PTV gas and absolutely love it! I daily drive it and don't want to modify it.
My campground wants all carts electric. I'm looking at used electric Yamaha Drive/Drive 2 (2012+). Is there anything I should watch for? I've heard some could have a DC motor - i've read you can identify this by not having 4 long bolts on outside of motor housing, is that true? Anything else to watch for? I know this is the Yamaha thread, but does anything recommend any other brand/models? I've got a couple Club Car Precendent and EXGO RXV local. RXV turned me off when I read the cart won't roll when it's dead - that's a deal breaker! Any advice is greatly appreciated. Really looking for something I can put around the camp ground, lifted 6" + 23" tires so if fits in my truck bed with the tailgate up. Thanks |

Re: Advice on used Yamaha Electric Cart
Many of my buddies here have RXV's and they love them. I have two Yamaha Drives (2012 and 2009) and I am happy with them - after many mods.

Re: Advice on used Yamaha Electric Cart
Prior to 2015 yamaha used the Team axle with internal wet brakes those axles had some issues with grinding noise so I would suggest finding a 2015 or newer if you want a Yamaha they went back to a standard axle with drum brakes. The club car precedent is a nice cart also they ride better than the yamaha IMO. I am not a fan of the RXV.
