runs all the time
When I turn the key on, it just starts and takes off, Runs at what seems to be full throttle. The linkage is free and working fine. Normally when you turn the key on nothing happens and when you press the gas pedal it starts and takes off. It seems to me that there has to be a electic switch to do that. Am I just a retard? I am a MASTER ASE CERTIFIED mechanic and I cant figure it out. Help me before I just to doubt my abilities and quit my job.
Also, if anyone has a manuel for this thing showing the wiring or how it works, it would really help, Anyway, Thanks |

Have you checked the throttle box microswitch?

Re: runs all the time
Maybe something got jammed in the pedal linkage underneath the cart? Sticks and stones can make my cart go faster!

Re: runs all the time
1991 gas EZGO and I could not find a microswitch, I looked, even traced back the wires going to the solenoid. And yes, I looked underneath and checked the linkage under the seat and it all seems to actuate perfectly?? I'm lost???

Re: runs all the time
Did any event ( hit curb, hit stump, changed oil) proceeded this.
When did this behavior start? Think back did anything happen? Also disconnect the throttle cable at the carb. Try this again. Does it still try to run wild? Let us know. Andrew |

Re: runs all the time
Thank you to everyone who has responded. And thank you for the manuel. I did finally trace down the starter solenoid wire to a box on the floor board, under the rubber mat that your feet rest on. There was a miroswitch in there that actuates when the gas pedal is depressed. I'm pretty sure that this is the problem. I ordered one and will just have to wait to see if it fixes it. However with it unpluged the machine does not start with the key on, pluged in and it cranks all the time. I'll let you all know and again, thank you very much.
