Front tires
Hello everyone, i was greasing my front bearings and i noticed that there is some play when you touch the tire like the something was loose or worn rubber bushings? Maybe its time to replace the bushings? Thanks

Re: Front tires
Sounds like its either the king pins, king pin bushinge, or bearings. I har the same problem and figured if I had to tear it all down I eould change all three which is what I did.

Re: Front tires
Common for king pins to go out, they hold the spindle so it can turn/steer.

Re: Front tires
I think its the kingpins, how do you take them off? I noticed a bolt with it on one side, and there was no cotter key on both sides, do they unthread?pound them out? Thanks

Re: Front tires
The king pin is basically a long bolt so just take the nut off and the pin will come out. The bushings are easy to knock out with a punch and hammer. If i remember correctly the pin is 11 mm in diameter so there is no substitute readily available meaning you have to purchase the king pins.

Re: Front tires
Many of them have a roll pin in them, but there is a roll pin in side the roll pin you have to take out first.
