Floor removal???
Looks like it is tack welded on. How is everyone getting theirs off for media blasting? I would ASSUME that you drill it out, but it looks the size of a dime and I don't want to leave a big hole or have to buy another floor from ???
Any suggestions? |

Re: Floor removal???
The floor was a big reason I stopped short with my rebuild and decided against a "full" teardown / blast / paint when I did my cart (well, that and impatience to get rolling as well as the knowledge that the nicer it looked, the faster I'd screw it up, LOL) ...
My buddy who redid a 93 Workhorse ended up leaving his floor on for the blasting, for a similar reason - You're likely going to leave a few spots hidden for rust to eventually develop, etc but for what it's worth, he did his 2 years before I did mine (so it's been 4 years total) and knock on wood, the paint is still holding up just fine, even under the rails where the floor meets them. If you DO figure out a way though it'd be good to know as I hope to tear my Buggy down to scratch this winter, and I have the same dilemna with the superwelds. |
