I think that in general if the piston is in the wrong way the engine will barely get above an idle and you are doing better than that. If you needed some peace of mind you could always remove the exhaust pipe and spark plug, turn the engine over by hand and look in the exhaust port with a flashlight. If you see a piston port you are in a world of pain.

Pretty sure I put the piston in right. I almost think its getting better with every little 2 min run up the laneway. well thats what im tellin myself.Hopefully the snow goes so I can get the break in time over with. I marked the timeing when I did the strip down . I think I put it back in the same spot.

If it's getting better then you're probably good to go. If not, you should check it out before something goes seriously awry inside the motor. Do you have a timing light to check it? There's no telling how close the timing was to being right before.
