I realized I hadnt kept this thread up to date...so figured I would bring it up to par now. Since the last post I have gotten a few more items completed. Frame has been painted gloss black and fwd/rev rear has been installed. Rear was also cleaned up and painted gloss black.

Jakes 4" drop axle kit installed with new HD front leaf springs. New tie rod ends as well. Also had to shim the spindles to correct the tolerances. Used machine bushings from TSC. I did have to rely on the knowledge base of BGW members to get the drop axle assembled correctly. Turns out the mfg. placed the jakes lift kit sticker on the wrong side of the front axle and well thats all I am going to say...but it is correct now. The axle assembly that is, the sticker is the trash. lol

Now I am working on cleaning up, repainting and repairing/replacing any and all parts for brake and gas foot pedals. Including hardware, springs and cables. Here are a few before and after pics. I will get more pics tomorrow and post then.

Next on the list is to drill out the tapered holes in the front spindles and steering bar and flip the tie rods to mount above instead of hanging down. This will achieve better clearance and looks. Again, not my idea, but yet another recommendation from a fellow BGW member. Thanks goes out to Redcloud, 1989Marathon, pachanga90 and pitbulljoe for ideas and suggestions/corrections.

Hardkor, you have way to much patience. Those pieces look great.
I did the same to my engine bay when I first built my cart. Then I decided that it was too much fun riding through the mud.
Nice Work! Are you considering coilovers for the rear?

I am looking at shocks and springs as I type this lol. Looking at monroe 31069 and 32207 shocks and black magic coil over springs. Up for suggestions if you have something better.

I am practicing patience on this build as its my first and want it done right. This cart will be in the mud as well but it will start out clean LOL. I cleaned, primed with red oxide and painted everything because I hate rust and want to prevent it as much as possible.

My next cart may not get as much attention to detail...until my OCD kicks in anyway.

I forgot to mention tearing down the front hubs and spindles cleaning them and repacking the bearings and greasing the king pins.

Also reconstructing the battery tray making it bigger and stronger to hold a larger deep cycle battery. I will post pics of that tomorrow.

Looks good. Is that the original spring with spacer? Do tell about the coil overs.

Original spring with Jake's 4" spacer. The coilovers are from fleabay. $49 for the set. They are adjustable. They give the extra payload capacity I wanted.
