3PG rebuild revisited
I rebuilt my EZGO 3pg engine last year. It started and ran for awhile it sounded good but had little power then it stopped running. I took it back apart and the crank shaft seal had popped out on the flywheel side. I tapped it back in and the cart now runs again but still has little power. Compression is good 130 psi. I checked the fuel pump and it appears to be working (spits fuel about a foot when disconnected) I'm using pre-mix and have sealed the oil intake. I am still running on the break-in tank. Any thoughts on what else to check?
Thanks, Josh |

Re: 3PG rebuild revisited
If you are running on the break-in ratio, it will have a bit less power because of the additional oil. The easiest way to get more power out of a 2pg or 3pg is to install a larger carb. Make sure your primary clutch is working correctly. If it is shifting out too soon, it won't let the engine get into the higher rpm where the power is.
