G14 carb bowl vent an issue.
Hi All,
Every two months, I have to clean out the carburetor as it plugs up so bad, even choking it eventually wont allow it to run. I put TWO fuel filters on it ( before and after the pump ) to prevent this from happening, but I always have to yank the carb and clean it out every two months. The carb looks clean when I open it up. We are in a dusty area, and so I suspect some dirt and crap is getting in the bowl through the vent hole. Has anyone figured out a way to plug this hole and yet allow air to go through? I was thinking fabric, or steel wool but that might cause more problems. I seem to remember a thread on this a while ago, but I can't find it. |

Run a hose off the breather orifice and add a Napa 3011 fuel filter to the end.
You can run any lenght hose and tuck it up in an undisclosed area with line guide clamps (holders). I did this with one of our workhorses. Change out the filter as often as needed. |

Here is a pic, I put a black circle around the vent.
Dewzer, how did you put a hose onto there? Did you insert a metal pipe of some kind first? |

Re: G14 carb bowl vent an issue.
I will try and get a pic today.
On the workhorses carb there is a brass nipple inserted that will except a hose. Simular to the vacumm ports on the older style auto carbs you would hook a line to. I cant immigine this was installed aftermarket. It is on the 1999 EZ GO workhorse with the FE250. Steve |
