My 2011 yamaha golf cart has problems in cold weather.. when pedal is pushed it runs fine but after stopping and trying to restart there is no reaction and pedal has to be pushed several times along with the choke in order for it to run..it has new gas filter and spark plug and ran fine till the weather got cold..any ideas to check?

How cold are you talking? It could be water in the fuel, if the cart sits a lot. That water will freeze and cause driveability/starting issues. The temp itself shouldn't really affect a gas engine....unless we are talking sub zero temps. During extreme cold any engine has a hard time. Does the starter/gen spin well when cold, or does it slow down? That would be a battery issue, which will happen during extreme cold as well, batteries can lose 50% of their power.

If by "no response" you mean not even turning over, You need a "start/stop switch", also known as a pedal switch. Try this to verify, next time it messes up, press the pedal to the floor, then slide your foot off the side of the pedal, allowing it to "snap" up. It usually will work properly next pedal press.

It could also be a "dead-spot" in the armature of the starter/gen.My wifes G16 does it quite a bit, more after its' been run a bit.You hit the pedal, and you get a click, and nothing more than maybe a quick whine from the starter.I rock the cart a little and it starts.Hope this helps.
