Re: Tachometer
The Equus 8068 or any tiny tach will work, and they both hook to the plug wire. The 8068 is nice.

Re: Tachometer
Yep--they are both inductive pick-up. The tiny tach has a wire that you wrap around the plug wire. They work, but are slow reacting. The 8068 has a clamp device that goes around the plug wire. It is adjustable for 1-12 cyl and it works great for me. I don't think a "normal" tach will work.

Re: Tachometer
I use the yamaha brand that has the tach and hour meter in one unit. All you do is wrap a small gauge wire around the plug wire a few turns and secure with zip tie. Works well and reminds you when service intervals are needed.

I installed the yamaha branded tach and hour meter. It worked OK for a week and now reads one half of the rpm. It is like it switched to 2 stroke mode.

Re: Tachometer
I have a moose tiny tach. It works but I am questioning its readings. I think it reads too high. Going to check another brand to double check
