Re: 84 DS Air Cleaner cannister fabrication progress
Gryphons this isn't my thread, so I can't say what the original poster did on the setup he posted. I'm still running the large stock airbox on mine.
But I also had a hole melted into my stock air box as well (the one over the battery). I filled it with silicone and painted it over black. Never been an issue since. |

Ah, I thought you had replaced it as well, from a quick glance over the replies. Good to know the simple fix should hold up though. My apologies to thread owner, didn't mean to derail it. |

Pretty sure the KF82 flatheads had a different airbox than the FE290s

2005 Precedent: 1987 DS: The intake tube specifically for the 1987 cart is still available on eBay. This is the route I'd be leaning towards. Just have to find a choke button: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Club-Car-DS-...3D321554017622 |

Re: 84 DS Air Cleaner cannister fabrication progress
It may, indeed, be much more work than I expect, but one thing in my favor is that I will not be working with the DS body and other non-changeable items. I bought the DS for the chassis (aluminum frame and gas motor). There's lots of fabrication likely to be necessary just to fit the turf rider body and attachments on it.
So that will allow me to reconfigure a few things. And if it doesn't work, with the permission of Gregg (the person giving the stuff to me), I'll pass it along to another member. Here's a few photos of the Turf rider body (in progress), as well as my Harley-Davidson Topper Scooter. A couple of weeks from now everything should be in paint and on its way back to my house to wait for the snow to leave and for the restoration to begin. |

Re: 84 DS Air Cleaner cannister fabrication progress
What happened to the other posts on this thread? I swear there was further conversation about air intake parts here (?)
