Default 96 ezgo

I replaced the carb jet with bigger one on my 96 ezgo ,now the engine keeps running a second or two before stopping and also backfires sometimes.
do I need to change back to old carb jet or do something else to solve problem

I would return the carb to stock and clean it. Take it off, follow the tech manual for dis assembly and soak it overnight in a can of carb cleaner. Blow it out and reassemble/ re install. I would also look at checking your valve adjustment. Its super easy to check and adjust the valves.
