Default Tell me

ok I was looking closer at my 1980 marathon ezgo and saw this. what is it and what does it do.as u can see in one picture it is broken.i know what the part is on the last picture.but does it look like it needs to be replaced?

Resistor coil I believe is the proper name.

Goldwinger,

Yep - that's a broken coil. That's also why your cart doesn't work in certain speeds and why you're seeing arcing on the accelerator wiper board contacts.

I had a similar situation this past July - take a look at this thread:

I have an old resistor coil in a box of stuff Coosa, another forum member, gave me. I sent you a PM in response to your earlier question.

Just a suggestion - don't create a new thread for each question about your 1980 cart - keep 'em all in the same thread and you'll likely get better responses to your problem. That way, folks on the forum don't have to look through multiple threads to help you.
