12 volt batterys
can I use 3 12 volt batterys inplace of the 6 6volt batterys without changing a bunch of stuff?

Sure, if you dont care how many years they last, or how far you can go between charges, only care if it moves. Even the biggest 12v golf batteries are going out of favor with the oems, due to insufficient range and overall life. I wouldnt waste time or money on 12v's, if you want to throw 3 car batteries you have in there to test it to see if it works, thats ok, if you wanna drive it around like that, you will quickly wear-out the batts.
