Re: Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models
The steering box in the picture is not oem so I would bet it comes with the kit. As for the steering column it basically is same once it comes through the frame so may be okay there too

Re: Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models
After further research, the pic that StoveBolt so graciously uploaded, is for a 2008.5 and up TXT. That being said... The video that RHOX https://vimeo.com/238668854 has installing a kit on a 2012 TXT shows that THAT kit comes with a steering rack., and looking at the video, it appears to me that the 2012 model, and the 1999 model utilizes the same attachment points for the actual lift kit cage mounts. My question now, is there any difference on the 2001.5 and the 2012 steering column?
Thanks in advance |

Re: Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models
I just ordered a kit (LIFT-502) from Steve@ Extreme Carts for $449.00 shipped free. The kit includes the double ended steering rack shown in the pics. I am now looking at installing a rear disc brake kit, or modifying the spindle to accept a front disc setup. The stock drum brake setup has difficulty stopping now since I put in the bigblock kit.

Re: Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models
[QUOTE=carguymn;1492357]Have you installed this yet?
I am installing one on my 01.5 ezgo and am having some issues. First of all, this is a very nice front suspension. There just needs to be some improvements from the manufacturer for info and communication. The kit comes with NO written instructions or documentation. There is an online video that is informative, but the install is on an electric cart. The big issues I had are with the steering shaft and wheel fitment. The steering shaft would not fit my column, looks like the splines are wrong on it, still working with my vendor on this issue. I changed the splines for the upper joint from my original steering shaft to the replacement shaft to make it work. (not perfect , but will work until figured out) The wheel fitment issue is that the info I found says that the lift requires 10" or larger offset wheels.(pretty standard for any lift I've done) I have 10" wheels with a 3x4 offset and they contact the steering arm. After I brought this issue up with my vendor, they told me that 10" wheels will require spacers.(per manufacturer) The info on Red Hawk's site (i believe they are the manufacturer/importer) states they will fit. No mention of needing spacers. Also, pay attention to the rear lift block install if you have a gas cart. There is no referencing to make sure the axle stays centered like the electrics. Measure and make sure it is centered before you button everything up. |
