88 GX444 Marathon oil and fuel question
I have an 88 Marathon 2 stroke. I want to mix my oil and gas. What steps need to be taken with the oil tank? Can I drain it and leave it alone? Do I have to disconnect anything?
Also is it necessary to use premium fuel? |

Re: 88 GX444 Marathon oil and fuel question
There is an oil line connected to a banjo fitting up at the carburetor. That needs to be removed, and plugged airtight with a 6mm screw. That is the most important thing.
You should also remove the pump, and the cable that is connected to the carburetor. You could remove the oil tank. No, you absolutely do not want premium fuel. It is designed for high compression high performance engines. Your cart is neither. Premium fuel actually has less BTUs than 87 octane. If you want to spend your money on unnecessary things, you should at least spend it on something worthwhile like non-ethanol fuel. I mix one, or two gallons at a time. I drive my cart every day, and it lasts forever. For that reason, I mix Seafoam with all of the gas in my cans. That's all you really need. |
