Default 85A Elec may not be 85?

The serial on my cart is 85A48- however, according the wiring diagrams shown, it appears to be an 88 and up V-Glide. Anyone have a clue why it would be as such? Still no luck and getting it to run.

Do you mean A853405857 ? I have never seen a serial # not start with a letter on a Club car.

So, it sounds to me like your cart has been up-graded.... IF you have a row of resistor coils behind the batteries like an '88? More likely, you have a row of 5 solenoids and 3 small coils there like all the other '85 Club Cars? Honestly, some people wouldn't know a V-glide if they stepped on one. Please post pictures of these components so we can fugure out what you have and get you up and running

V-glide is the common term used for the black plastic, V shaped box on the driver frame rail. It can be a pot type controller cart OR a resistor cart. Controller type will have a series or small resistors inside the other has copper contacts.

It looks like this but with a black cover on it ... mounted right below the driver's seat!

My controller looks exactly like the one in your photo. There are resistors behind the batteries with no solenoids. A single solenoid is mounted centerline down in front of the batteries. I'll get some pics. I'm pretty sure that I'm getting voltage to the motor.

You are describing a resistor cart! I have thought it would be a good improvement but hadn't seen anyone do it... So is the solenoid clicking when you press the gas peddle? What is the pack voltage?

.......and yes that was a meltdown Only pic of a Vglide I found.
