In post 15 you stated the stud was turning in the motor housing so I would bet a dollar that is now the reason it is not moving and possibly internally grounded causing the sparks.
Don't beat yourself up about it, we all have done things wrong trying to learn more.
You can either pull the motor and have it repaired at a competent motor/alternator shop or spring for the PQ motor.
