1985 gone wild

i have a 1985 club car 36 volt
It took off at very high speed and the only thing that turned it off was putting the f+r switch in netuarl

I put a meter on the solinod wires and pressed down on the go pedal and stopped at the click sound.

The first click turned on the first solinod and 4th
the second click turned off the 1st and turned on the 2nd and 4th
the third click turned off the 2nd and 4th and turned on the 3rd and 2nd
the fourth click turned off the 3rd and turned on the 4th and 2nd
the fifth click turned on all the solinods

Where do i go from here???

Not a sparkler man but I would start by removing a wire at the motor
and then start checking for a stuck solenoid.

The solenoid sequence is from drivers side #1-#2-#3-#4-#5 to passenger side. The resistors are again from drivers side #1-#2-#3 to passenger side.
#1 main solenoid feeds rest of solenoids power through flat buss bar NO MOTION
#2 solenoid is low speed putting power through #1-#2-#3 coil resistors
#3 solenoid is second speed through #2-#3 resistor
#4 solenoid is third speed through #3 resistor
#5 solenoid bypasses all resistors so full speed
If the #4 solenoid closes each time pedal is pushed it may be one of your micro switches inside the pedal control box is defective, or wiring problem? Did this suddenly start or what had been done after wiring etc repairs?

i changed the master solinod and all was fine then it went full speed and the only way to stop it was to turn the f+r switch to netual the key switch mad no dif

man your luck with carts is crap.............best thing get a wiring diagram but i would also agree check the box where the 5 micros are and the plastic slider plate is..............................

If you are not getting the sequence of solenoids that I posted then either the micro, or wiring to or from micro is defective or the speed switch slide is causing #4 solenoid to close before its supposed to? Your pedal speed control box should be white or silver in color with red ends, but often with carts of your age have been converted to V glide pie shaped units under drivers side of seat, so check for non stock control unit and let forum help you with alternate unit?

the 85 cart got jellous of all the new parts that the 93 cart got !!!

Your correct about conversion to V Glide but I have seen it done many times so its not impossible? Performance has been not so great because of contact segments inside V glide? I have never done a similiar conversion without eliminating all but one solenoid and using plastic plate with resistors mounted on it myself.
