Sw202 Help Needed
I am finally getting to the testing stage of my 1986 Yamaha G2 build. I have installed one of Carts Unlimited CU54 conversion kits that includes an alltrax SR48500 controller and a SW202 reversing contactor. I have wired everything up according to ScottyB's instructions and I have no reverse. I do get a loud click from both the solenoid and the Sw202 when I push gas pedal in reverse.
I even changed the SW202 to motor cables to follow the diagram Alltrax supplies for a generic series cart with a SW202 reversing contactor and still no reverse. The cart does go forward with the F&R switch in both forward and the neutral position, not sure if it would set up following Carts Unlimited's diagram,, as I never tried.. I have basically redone all the wiring for the SW202 so I don't believe I have anything messed up there. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. Could I possibly have a bad contactor?? I have attached a couple of pics from the original sw202 set-up. Thanks for any help, I'm going nuts with this thing!!! |

Re: Sw202 Help Needed
Make sure you have the negatives bridged. Make sure toggle is wired correctly. The ends go to the sw202,I believe center to solinoid

Re: Sw202 Help Needed
Skycraft, thank you for your reply! I had all the wiring correct. We were pretty stumped as my coworker that teaches Auto Tech and is very well versed in electrical systems was getting good fluke meter readings at all the spots we testing.
What we found was one of the contactors had the main spring out of place internally. Basically the contactor was always making contact on one side but the spring out of place was keeping it from working correctly. Maybe this post will someday help someone else out that is having a similar issue! |
