Worthington Champ Cart ????
I happen to come across a Worthington champ 24V cart that I could pick up for a couple of hundred bucks. It is complete. My question is does anyone know anything about these and is it even posible to find any parts???
I how not found much at all about them on the web except they were made in Stroudsburg, Pa. 1957-1959 THANKS |

Re: Worthington Champ Cart ????
Here are a couple of pics. The guy told me it has 4 batteries under the seat & the motor turns if power is put to it. My first guess is that the motor would have to be rewound & new brushes & who knows what else.
Any thoughts??? |

Re: Worthington Champ Cart ????
If your just into old carts that would be ok...if you want something else I'd pass on it. Pretty much anything you need as far as parts will be hard time find if at all.

Re: Worthington Champ Cart ????
I am into old carts, I just finished a 73 Harley & I am looking for my next project. I have never did an electric cart & like you mentions I am sure parts would be an issue that could put a stop to the entire project, plus it seems to me that even if I get it back to original I don't see this thing having much power with being only 24V but I might be wrong.

If you don't buy it, I am sure someone will give him two hundred dollars..
On the other hand, If I really wanted it, I would offer him a C note..or charge him one to haul it off. |

Re: Worthington Champ Cart ????
You are right a 24v 3 wheeled cart like that one would have been made for warehouse use and anything out side would have been overwhelming for it as it is very underpowered for it's weight. Personally I like the new stuff

Re: Worthington Champ Cart ????
I bought it...Great little cart. Someone had put a restricter on the controller and the speed was very SLOW. It's removed now and goes like a rabbit. I'm stripping it down to do some needed repair under the battery tray. Not too much rust but needs some help.
