One thing I can tell you about throttle cable on some of the mid to early 2strokes, is that it's backwards from what you expect. When you push the gas pedal down, it "extends the cable", does not pull it as expected. The throttle plate on the ones I've worked on are spring loaded to the wide open position. When you push the gas pedal, it lengthens the cable and lets the throttle open, when you release the gas pedal, it shortens the cable, pulling the throttle plate closed. Always thought this to be backwards, if the cable ever broke, your carburetor would go to wide open position. Hope this helped.
