1982 G1 using to much oil?
Just got done adding new crank seal, engine gaskets and piston/ring. Yamaha starts up and runs like never before but soon dies and I find excessive amount of oil in the carburetor bowl. Is there an adjustment for the oil consumption?

Re: 1982 G1 using to much oil?
As I said in your PM
No adjustment. Most will disconnect the oil pump and premix. Factory manual says the oil pump mixes between 150:1 and 300:1 depending on load. I experimented with oils for years. Ended up using Echo brand oil at 100:1. |

Do you know how many gallons the stock fuel tank is? Does the echo brand list a 100 to 1 mix ratio? Thanks for your help

Re: 1982 G1 using to much oil?
Found this by googling "premix calculator"
http://www.premixcalculator.com/ 1.28 oz oil to 1 gallon gasoline = 100:1 I always mixed mine in 5 gallon fuel containers and used Stabil in them as well for storage. Pour that right into an empty fuel tank. |
